With a scoring average of 37.7 ppg and two 40-point performances in three games, Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony was honored as the Western Conference Player of the Week on Nov. 2 for games played Oct. 27 through Nov. 1. This marks the ninth Player of the Week award in Anthony's career.

The Nuggets management had a busy day on Oct. 31, finalizing deals that will keep reserves Renaldo Balkman and Arron Afflalo in Denver beyond the 2009-10 season. The team signed Balkman to a contract extension and exercised the fourth-year option on Afflalo's contract.
